Make your home office more appealing

This past year working from home has become second nature to most employees, with company’s having to convert their employees to working from home due to the coronavirus. During this time, kitchen tables, beds, and several other home accessories have been made into offices for remote employees. However, you’re at your most productive when you have a work setup that’s devoted to your work and only serves the purpose of allowing you to complete your work each day.

Let’s take a look at how you can make your home office more appealing!

Turn It Into A Space You Like

Nothing can stop your productivity more than spending hours in a space that you can’t stand. You should like your home office and enjoy the hours that you spend in it. You don’t have to wait for an interior designer to step in either! You can completely transform a space with as little as a can of paint or a few rolls of wallpaper. Keep things away that could be distracting and potentially disrupt your workflows like TVs or your gaming material.

Invest In Comfy Chairs

Choose what you’ll splurge on carefully, but seating is one thing that you should choose to invest in. You’ll be spending hours sitting at a desk or on a couch in your office space, so you want to choose seating that will keep you comfy. Of course, choosing seating that is stylish and adds to your interior design style is equally as important as comfort. Be willing to spend a bit more on high-quality seating for your office.

Add Plants

Plants will add instant life to any space and can brighten up spaces with little light or windows. Indoor plants, even something as simple as a few succulents on your desk, can make a huge difference during your day. It’s easy to get low-maintenance plants that won’t require your constant attention and will thrive just fine on their own.

Use Colour

Don’t be afraid to use colour in your office. Sticking with neutrals can be a good idea in some situations but going crazy can also be a good idea. Look into what different colours mean and choose your colours based on what you feel you need during your workdays. Choose paint colours that bring you happiness, especially colours that you wouldn’t typically use in other areas of your home!

Decorate With Artwork

Artwork can completely transform a space and add to it.  Make your office space your own with artwork that you love and pieces that add value to space. Large pieces of artwork especially can look a lot more interesting and add character. The more unique artwork you can find and the more you can fill your walls with it the better. Find artwork that you love and get to decorating!

Include Mirrors

Mirrors can completely change any room in a home, but especially they can change your office space. They can make your office look professional and more open, especially in smaller spaces. If you’re working with limited space, adding mirrors, whether big or small can completely change the atmosphere and the size appearance.

Get A Rug

Rugs can be a great addition to your workspace and add warmth to it. However, it greatly depends on which rug you choose and the quality of the rug that you get. Invest in a high-quality, stylish rug that pairs well with the rest of your office space. Make sure that you keep your furniture simple and keep a clean look so that it doesn’t look cluttered with the rug.

Add Candles

In the office, candles are usually forbidden for being a fire hazard (and not the smartest or safest idea) but nothing is stopping remote workers from including candles in their home office. Candles can add a way to distress and a reminder for you to breathe as you work. With the light, colour, and calming smell candles can help you with your workflow and encouraging a positive work environment.

Let Your Furry Friends Say Hello

Usually, pets and children are banished from the room, but sometimes it can’t hurt to have a friend to keep you company. Interacting daily with your pets can break up your day and give you a boost of happiness. Let your favourite furry friends inside for a visit every once in a while to give you some excitement!
